Ortega Elementary should stay open because it is a wonderful school. Also everyone is kind, helpful, and so much more. Ortega is beautiful and the teachers will do anything to help you succeed. Teachers are just like, wow, this is the school that everyone should be at! Ortega is like home to me because I always feel safe. This is how absolutely wonderful this school is: when I wake up, at 6:00 am and I say I don’t want to go to school all I do is say to myself, “Hey I’m a superstar and I can take on anything because I go to Ortega Elementary!” Some solutions instead of shutting down Ortega are to create a 6th grade, or close another school down and send the students to Ortega. Please keep Ortega Elementary open.

All of the Kids Want To Do Their Best
What I am going to write about is why the school district wants to close Ortega Elementary, where I go to school. I do not want my school to close down because I have gone here since kindergarten and now I am in the fifth grade. Ortega Elementary is an exemplary school and the kids that go here are very smart. In addition, they are respectful to each other and to the staff at Ortega. Ortega should not be closed because other kids that are in first grade love to learn at Ortega and the want to finish elementary school here. In every grade kids love Ortega and I love Ortega too because this school is great. Also, our parents do not want Ortega to close because they want their kids to do their very best at Ortega and all of the kids do their best because our school is exemplary. In my opinion Ortega must stay open and a possible solution is to create a 6th grade so our school can have more students.

Our Teachers Inspire Us to Learn
I do not want people to close my school because my school is exemplary 2008-2010 and we have 305 students in our school. We have excellent, inspiring teachers, that help us to be successful and go beyond what they want us to do and be excellent: be better at what we did not know before. My teacher helped me be 2nd honor roll 2 times in 5th grade and now I am getting A's and B's in 5th grade. I would not be where I am now without my teachers that help me. It is a great school. I do not want to see my brother and sister going to another school that we do not know about. My mom tells me she does not like the idea of closing Ortega and lots of parents agree. Instead of closing Ortega elementary, an alternative solution could be to create a 6th grade, closing another school and sending those students to Ortega; or the school district ran a campaign to increase our student numbers.

We All Love Learning
I want Ortega to stay open because we are an Exemplary school. I want to finish my last year of elementary. I want my little brother and sisters to finish elementary school at Ortega. We all love coming and learning every day and we hope that it will stay open.

Am going to tell you why should you not close the school Ortega. I think you should not close the school Ortega because this school is very important to a lot of people. If you close the Ortega you may ruin dreams and future of people who work and go to school at Ortega Elementary.

The reason that I think Ortega should stay open is because I think it is a good school for kids to go to. Also my little brother is in second grade and is going to get moved to another school that we don't even know about. I have only been at Ortega for two years and I think it is the best elementary school that I have ever been to. So I do not want Ortega to close because I want other kids to go to the Ortega school and see how good the school is for Pre-k through 5th grade.

For example, our Physical Education program: almost everybody in the school likes it; or our Art Program: because sometimes if our art is good we go into competitions (once we sent our art to someone in authority and got awards.) Another good example to not close our school is our Choir Program: because we always go to performances around the city (even singing during the Austin Marathon in February.) We represent our school, our self, and our district with these programs. That is why our school should stay open. Also, our library is really cool too because we have so many good books and a lot of kids at the school love to read and we have a wonderful librarian Ms. Miller. Instead of closing Ortega Elementary, some solutions for Ortega’s school closer are: creating a sixth grade so we can have more students registered at the school, the district could run a campaign to increase the number of students at the school or we can raise more money for the school and ask for donations.

I don't want Ortega to get close because its a great school and they teach us very well. Our teachers are thoughtful and kind the also care about us. I love about Ortega that we know ever body here.

I want Ortega to stay open because this school has a lot of important things that other schools do not have, like teachers that support you and do great activities. All of our students like to learn every single day. The teachers in Ortega like teaching and they like encouraging the students to do well on the TAKS. The students and parents are trying to do everything they can do to save the school.

We don't want Ortega to close because it is an Exemplary school. If they shut it down Ortega, the kids will have to go to a school that might not be Exemplary. We are getting a lot more things like computers that will help us learn new things. We might not have the same opportunity to learn if we are sent to another school.
